I have grown up with horses and started riding whilst I was still in my mum’s tummy! So horses have always been a part of my life.I currently ride at riding club level with my horse Lynwood Atlanta, stable name George and am hoping to start eventing. I am hoping to affiliate Dressage and Show Jumping at the end of 2008 beginning of 2009. George is particularly talented at Dressage and we qualified for Hickstead two years ago which was an exciting time for me. At present we are working Novice level. I have always been interested in anatomy and physiology taking Human Biology all the way to A Level. I am fascinated with the ability the human and animal body has to repair and heal itself and have been shown how amazingly well the Bowen technique can trigger, speed up and aid this process. |

In 2003 my mum’s horse, Sherif, developed a serious hoof infection. This resulted in a section of hoof having to be removed up to the coronary band. After extensive veterinary & farrier work the hoof infection cleared up and the hoof healed. However, Sherif was unable to become 100% sound and both the farrier and vet couldn’t find anything wrong with him declaring there was nothing more they could do. Cue Bowen Therapy! Sherif received a number of Bowen treatments and eventually became fully sound and is still competing today at the grand age of 20. After seeing the results Bowen had on Sherif I decided to embark on learning the technique. I did this by completing the human Bowen course with the European School of Bowen Studies in 2006-7. I then went on to take the Equine Bowen Studies course with Beth Darrall at Hartpury College in 2007-8. |
I am now a fully qualified Human Bowen and Equine Bowen Therapist. I am certified to treat both people and horses and am registered with The European School of Equine Bowen Therapists. To remain on the register, graduates must be fully insured, be first aid trained and take CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses. The course director is Beth Darrall. The course is supervised and examined by Nigel Dodman an equine veterinary surgeon, Bowen Therapist and BHSI instructor at Hartpury College.
Originally I was planning on only being an equine therapist however I have found I enjoy equally treating people and horses. I am certified to treat both people and horses and am registered with The European School of Equine Bowen Therapists. |
For equine treatments I charge £40.00 per horse. I visit the following counties within a 25 mile radius of Sevenoaks. Thereafter it will be an additional 50p a mile.
